At the same time, unlike an ordinary door, a fire resistant door need to be power packed with anti-fire characteristics, display robust construction with capabilities to take on a wide assortment of fitments, glazed panels and ironmongery.
One needs expert guidance and an exceptional eye for detail to go fire resistant.
Some doors may require through vision to see signs of smoke and flames. Closed doors and minimum sized gaps are an essential first line of defense. Special smoke sealed doors are the need of the hour to counter larger smoke volume and pressure.
Doors fitted with smoke seals require far greater opening forces. A good fire resistant door must therefore be able to take on that extra pressure.
Chiefly, there are two forms of Fire resistant doors that are for the picking. (a) Timber door frames and (b) Steel Door frames. And one of the major differences between the two and that which must be of concern to you lies in the seal.
