Special, sophisticated treatment is provided to this extra thick, strong hardwood, ensuring superior quality. Close watch and care is given during cross-graining and phenol bonding through especially imported machines which bond together all the core veneer layers, so that each Derbyply length is a one piece, zero gap product, more solid, more strong, than all its other competitors.

All core veneers used in it are tenderised on imported machines to allow for the natural expansion or contraction movements of the fibers. This process along with pre-press technology used for making plywood eliminates warping completely.
Derbyply being made out of hardwood is naturally resistant to termites and fungus.

Yet as a further fool proof precaution, it is chemically treated with permanent preservatives through vacuum pressure impregnation. This makes it totally resistant to fungi, termites, marine borers, and other wood destroying organisms. The procedure followed is thorough unlike other brands which just dip in chemicals. Here every sheet, layer by layer is treated with appropriate chemicals by vacuum pressure technology.

It easily withstands 72 hours of boiling water, thus meeting the IS 710 Standard, which qualifies it as 100% Marine Grade plywood. This makes Derbyply superior to other brands which fall under the BWR category which is a general category plywood and is certified under IS 303. BWR category plywood can withstand only 8 hours of boiling water and hence does not qualify as Marine plywood, which is synonymous with inherent strength. The bonding with Phenol Formaldehyde Synthetic Resin is so strong that even if one happens to leave a piece of DERBYPLY in water for days, no harm is done.

The moisture level considered most suitable to Indian climatic conditions is scrupulously maintained. The scorching Sun, lightning or rain, or the salty seaside winds, even high humid air-nothing affects Derbyply. It bravely copes with all vagaries of Nature.
Because of its unique durability and strength it is perfectly suitable for the ship building industry, for constructing lifeboats, ship cabins, barges etc. and for exquisite household and office furniture, which include wood work in kitchens, bathrooms, panel inserts, exposed cabins, partitions and various other uses. It is ideal for Sauna-bath compartments now much in vogue.
